Topla Battery Maintenance
Maintenance of batteries of this brand is not provided. They are made completely maintenance free. It is not possible to open the lid at home. And its special design and the use of calcium-containing alloys minimizes the evaporation of the liquid, while the condensate flows back to the banks. Therefore, adding water is also not required.
All that remains in the maintenance plan is to handle the equipment with care, avoid deep discharge (although the manufacturer claims that the batteries are resistant to it), and recharge on time.
How to charge Topla batteries
Charging batteries of this brand is not required as often as serviced designs. But periodically this nevertheless arises a need. It is better not to bring the equipment to full discharge, although Topla batteries are resistant to it, and the manufacturer does not promise consequences. All the same, a deep discharge harms any battery.
Maintenance-free batteries should only be charged with a special charger with the ability to control voltage and incoming current. A conventional device, without the ability to control these parameters, can harm the battery. The fact is that with too high a voltage, the electrolyte begins to decompose into components, its density increases, and the volume decreases. You can save the situation by adding distilled water, but since the battery is maintenance free, this is not possible.
Using special charging helps to avoid this. The device is connected to the battery in polarity. Current is set at one tenth of the battery capacity. That is, if the capacity is 45 Ah, then the current should not exceed 4.5 A, if 60 Ah, then 6 A and so on. The voltage should not exceed 14.4 V. These parameters need to be monitored every two hours. The duration of charging depends on the degree of discharge.
Important! When charging a maintenance-free battery, you should adhere to the rule: less is better, but longer than vice versa. High amperage can damage the battery.
How to find out the release date and decrypt the code
The battery code for this brand is laser engraved. It has thirteen characters. The third and fourth in the marking mean the year, and the fifth and sixth - the week of the year.
