Device Overview
There are no adjustment knobs, mode switches, etc. on the memory. There is no traditional ammeter to control the charging current either - an LED indicator is installed instead. The device has a small weight - 0.75 kg and a modest size - 155 × 85 × 200 mm. The legs at the bottom of the case and the blinds in its upper part provide sufficient cooling of the electrical circuit.

The charger has electronic protection against overheating and short circuit between the terminals. When it is disconnected during protection operation, it is enough to unplug the device from the outlet and reconnect. Protection against overtaking is provided by a fuse.
Features of the device and for which battery is intended
The main distinguishing feature of this charger is the automatic change of charging modes, the alternation algorithm of which avoids electrolyte boiling. A feedback electronic circuit breaks the device when the voltage at the battery terminals reaches 15 V.
After a slowdown of chemical reactions inside the battery occurs and the voltage at its terminals drops to 13.5 V, the charger will turn on again. A complete shutdown of the device occurs when the battery charge is restored to 100%.
This change of charging / standby modes prevents prolonged and active boiling of the electrolyte and premature destruction of the plates from corrosion. In addition, the automatic cycle change allows you to restore charging fully charged batteries and eliminate the primary sulfation of the plates.
According to the manufacturer, the systematic use of the charger extends the battery life to 7-8 years (instead of the "usual" four). The instructions that accompany the device also indicate that it is designed for all types of automotive 12-volt batteries.
How to charge the battery using Pennant 15
Checking the operability of the device is simple - just insert the plug of the power cord into a power outlet, eliminating the shorting of wires with crocodile clips. The LED indicator should periodically “blink”, changing color from green to red, with a frequency of approximately once per second.
Install the battery and charger so that ventilation is provided in the working area and accidental disconnection of the terminals from the battery terminals is avoided. When the charger connected to the battery is connected to the network, the indicator of the device should light up in red. After the main battery potential is restored, the charger switches to standby mode, the color of the indicator changes to green.
Further restoration of the battery resource will occur by switching the memory modes: - from idle to active and vice versa. Accordingly, the color of the indicator will also change. The more fully charged the battery, the less likely the modes will change. A steady green light indicates the end of charging.
There is practically no need to control the process, it is enough to follow the general safety rules - that is, simply do not leave the device turned on unattended for a long time.
