ISTA-Center CJSC Plant in Dnepropetrovsk is the first Ukrainian battery manufacturer. The first battery released here was released in 1995. And today, two enterprises - CJSC ISTA-Center and LLC DOZ Energoavtomatika - the largest battery manufacturers in Eastern Europe.

Applied technologies and their features

ISTA products meet all international quality standards and are manufactured on modern equipment using advanced technologies. Here are the technologies involved in the production of batteries:

  • adding to the active mass of silicon dioxide and other substances that increase strength and resistance to low temperatures;
  • the use of calcium for doping positive and negative lattices - reduces fluid flow, increases shelf life;
  • the manufacture of electrode plates by rolling with perforation, which increases strength and reduces corrosion;
  • Expanded Metal technology, which allows to reduce the thickness of the plates and increase their number, thereby increasing the current output;
  • the arrangement of the electrode veins in a checkerboard pattern, which increases resistance to vibration and reduces the shedding of the active mass;
  • the manufacture of the active mass on the basis of highly oxidized powder, thereby increasing energy intensity and starting currents.

The battery case of this brand is made of especially durable polymer material, and there is an indicator in the lid that allows you to monitor the condition of the equipment.

The lid is labyrinth in design, due to which the condensed liquid is returned back to the banks. It is tight and eliminates the flow of electrolyte. Also, flame arresters are built into the lid, which protect the car from fire.

Technical characteristics of a model range

Under the brand name ISTA, various battery models are available for both passenger cars and trucks, differing in their characteristics. A complete list of them can be found on the official website of the manufacturer.

For cars

ISTA Standard. Hybrid lead acid batteries for passenger cars with standard electronics. The capacity of these batteries ranges from 50 to 100 Ah. The current of the cold scroll is 420-800 A.

ISTA Classic. Hybrid batteries designed for any medium-sized passenger vehicles. The capacity in the series is 50-100 Ah, the cold scroll current is from 420 to 800 A.

ISTA 7 series. Fully maintenance-free premium batteries. They have improved performance and are designed for modern passenger cars with lots of electronics. Their capacity is from 45 to 100 Ah, starting currents are from 450 to 850 A.

ISTA Battery Maintenance

ISTA batteries are both maintenance-free and fully maintenance-free. First, you can open the lid and add water if necessary, and secondly, this is not possible, so when the battery becomes unusable, it remains only to dispose of it.

However, in handling both those and others, one must adhere to the same rules:

  • closely monitor the degree of battery charge, charge on time and prevent going into a deep "minus";
  • you can not store the battery in a discharged state, during long-term storage periodically check its performance;
  • Do not use the battery in a dirty and wet form, because of this it may be short between the terminals;
  • the terminals must be cleaned from oxidation, if it occurs, and lubricated with a thin layer of technical petroleum jelly;
  • periodically inspect the case - if there are cracks, swelling, etc., you can not use the battery further.

Important! Despite the fact that the characteristics of many models say that they are resistant to deep discharge, it should not be allowed. Deep discharge in any case shortens the battery life. And the more often it happens, the more serious the consequences.

How to charge ISTA batteries

The battery should be placed in a well-ventilated and heated room (if the temperature outside is below zero). For serviced batteries, open the covers and top up if necessary. Have service personnel make sure that the exhaust valves are not clogged (located on the sides).

Before charging, you need to carefully inspect the battery, clean it and wipe it from moisture. Charge it from the network using a special charger. It should be connected, observing the polarity. The voltage for a 12-volt battery should reach 16-16.5 V.

There are two methods to charge: DC voltage or DC. At the first, a constant voltage is set, and the current strength can be 40-50 A. Gradually, it will fall until it reaches zero. In the second method, a constant current of 1/10 of the battery capacity is set.

How to find out the release date and decrypt the code

ISTA batteries are manufactured at two plants - ISTA-Center and Energoavtomatika. The marking of the first consists of six numbers. 1 digit - factory number, 2 - brigade number, 3 and 4 - year of manufacture, 5 and 6 - week of manufacture.

For example, the marking 13 11 07 means that the battery is manufactured at the first factory, the third team, and the release date is the 7th week of 2011. The seventh week is in February.

If the manufacturer is Energoavtomatika, then the marking consists of 10 digits.Here, the first is the number of the plant, the second is the year of manufacture, the third and fourth are the week of manufacture. The rest is the serial number of the battery itself.

    Istra stands on the 2006 Logan, for 13 years this battery has been working, once a year ago, I completely discharged it, lit it and everything was all right again. Until today, on November 15 and since May 2006, this battery has been working properly.

    Great battery! He stood on the emphasis from the date of purchase (03/08/2008), since then grief with him did not know, reliable and unpretentious. Never (pah-pah) did not fail, but it happened at -30 and -40 (I live in the Tyumen region) which is called with "half-kick." But such a model is probably outdated, but a pity. Recharged only for the winter period. Nice device!

I didn’t believe in the evening I charged everything like norms and a density of min 1.22 max 1.27, I decided to play it safe and bought a new one, as it should exactly on Friday night from work, measuring with the device showed 0000 V. after the density in one bank came 1.14 in the rest from 1.24 to 1.26. The plate probably crumbled.
    Someone who advises how to properly service even maintenance-free batteries.

    The density on the new Motrio in all banks is 1.3, how negatively this density can affect the plates in the future. But the starting current is exactly 100A (620) less. but the amperes are the same 70Ah
    The second question was trying to determine how much A -p gives merit into the gap sequentially on - the terminal shows 0.52-0.55 A. So on the new one it shows the same. how does this happen ???
