About manufacturer Akom
The company "Acom" was established in 2001. The basis for it was the Energotechmash plant in Zhigulevsk, which already existed before. A foreign company took part in the creation of the enterprise Tudor, popular in many countries of the world.
A few years later, Akom entered into a partnership with Varta Autobatterie GmbH (Johnson Controls Inc.). Today, the company is engaged in the production of many varieties of modern batteries of the L2, L3 and L5 formats, with different capacities and polarity according to calcium technology.
Where are Akom batteries used?
This brand includes a variety of batteries for cars and utility vehicles of both European and Asian standards. Such batteries will be the best solution for cars with medium and large amounts of electronic equipment.
The assortment range is primarily focused on the domestic auto industry, as well as on CIS countries, including the most modern trends. Akom batteries are supplied to large plants AvtoVAZ, GM-AvtoVAZ, IzhAvto, Asia-Avto, Super-Avto, Lada-Tul, Ros-Lada, completing cars of these and other manufacturers.
Applied technologies and their features
In the manufacture of batteries Akom uses modern calcium technology, is designated as: Ca-Ca, or Calcium-Calcium. Its essence is that calcium, and not antimony, is added to lead in the manufacture of electrodes. The latter is not used at all in the production of Akom. This makes products safer for humans and the environment, and batteries more reliable. This technology increases the strength and durability of the product, reduces fluid flow, increases resistance to deep discharge.
Also, in the manufacture of gratings instead of casting, rolling technology is used. This protects the plates from wear, oxidation and corrosion, improves current characteristics.
The starting power of Akom batteries is higher than that of classic batteries, and they also make it easier to start at low temperatures. The equipment is resistant to self-discharge and overcharge.
All Akom battery models are maintenance free. The working electrolyte level remains unchanged when used correctly for three years. It does not boil (if you do not exceed a voltage of 16 V), there is no need to remove the cover and add water.

Battery Service Acom
Accum batteries are considered maintenance free, but this is not entirely true. Thanks to the calcium technology and the special design of the lid, the electrolyte evaporates and boils off much more slowly, but still its level may decrease.
For the convenience of the owners, an indicator has been placed on the top cover of the battery, which should prompt in what condition the battery is and what needs to be done.
- Green. So everything is in order.
- The black. The battery is low and needs to be charged.
- White. There is little electrolyte in the battery and water needs to be added.
In addition, the owner only has to wipe the battery from dirt and moisture from time to time, clean the terminals from oxidation and try to be more careful about the device.
Important! If your model has the lids for the cans hidden behind the panel, then the battery is completely maintenance-free and you won’t be able to add water to it.
How to charge Akom batteries
Akom batteries are charged as needed using a special charger. The battery should be removed from the car and brought into the room where the charge will be made. If the battery was in the cold, then you need to let it stand for several hours until it warms up. You cannot charge a cold battery or artificially warm the battery.
Next, you need to wipe the battery from moisture and dirt, so that the terminals do not shorten. Unscrew the lids on all the cans. You need to make sure that the room is well ventilated, since explosive gas will be released during charging.
Connect the special charger to the battery, observing the polarity. Set on it the power of the charging current in the amount of one tenth of the nominal battery capacity. That is, with a capacity of 60 Ah, it will be 6 A, at 55 Ah - 5.5 A, etc. With a deep discharge, it is worth reducing this figure by another two to three times. The voltage must not exceed 16 V.
Connect the charger to the mains. Periodically check current strength, voltage. The average duration of charging is 12 hours, but much depends on the strength of the voltage and the degree of discharge.
How to find out the release date and decrypt the code
Date of issue stamped on top of cover. In this marking - 6 numbers and one letter. It can be decrypted in this way: the first two digits mean the month, then the year of manufacture follows, also of two characters, and the third means the date of manufacture, the letter is the shift code.
For example, the battery case is marked 01 14 02 T. It is decrypted as follows: release date January 2, 2014

Great Russian battery. Pleasantly surprised by it. In operation, it is very reliable. Moreover, every winter I wait for him to die, but he continues to work!
Michael
I like this battery for its high starting current, reliability, good performance in cold weather. However, he does not tolerate discharge. Generally no, not to mention the deep. Therefore, you need to carefully monitor.

I have a budget foreign car. Recently, the question arose about replacing the battery. A familiar owner of the same machine prompted me to Akom. The first impression of him is the best, we survived the winter without problems. Let's see what happens next.
after a year, he hit the car with music ((ak 62 (540))) consumers (under a kilowatt) did not charge with normal charge and there was (12.03 in) and density 1.23 Poured 150 g of old electrolyte topped up new 150 g each 1.25 and green icon ....... 12.5 in! in the autumn I charged 16v (pennant-37), the result — after two days 12.7 at minus 12
He died in the second year, in the winter.
In February 2012, he bought akom standard with the machine. In January 2018, at -25, there were no problems before this (-20 starts up calmly)
I had experience using acom. First, he stood at my "9", then bought a VAZ 2111 rearranged akom on this car. Akom is generally good, but requires maintenance: checking the level, density, periodically recharging (especially before winter). Honestly, I mocked him: I put it in hot driving and charged it from the cold. But I started the car at the most at minus 35, and served as my akom 60 Ah - 6.5 years.
Akom calcium calcium, served for 3.5 years, one jar died sharply, the density dropped to 1.5, in the remaining 1.27. In autumn at plus 10, when trying to start in the morning. Prior to this, nothing foreshadowed; on the eve of driving everything was fine. for the entire time of ownership charged once before winter for preventive purposes. Hazardous product, may fail at an unpredictable moment.
I bought for 3600 rubles back in 2015 and I can’t get enough of it (pah, pah, pah). I ride every day, 38 km to work. In the summer, we constantly go to the country with my family, which is 168 km; in 2017, we traveled from Kazan to Moscow and back. The battery does not freeze, in 4 years it added water only 2 times, it is not afraid of charges. Minus the manufacturer that there is no normal handle. You will torture to drag this whopper or your hands will fall off.
No complaints, Acom stands for the second year and I didn’t even take it off. I have a kinglet of 2001, it starts without problems, the car is in the garage, I drive regularly.
Bought with the car in March 2019 Akom Standard 55 Ah. In the summer began to appear on all traffic jams. But everything was fine. Today removed, because bought another. I don’t understand the date of manufacture by Akom. Embossed "55 VA1T04DJ". This is not on the network. Can someone tell me?
