How to charge the battery using Pennant 27
The Pennant 27 charger can be used in automatic mode or set constant current and voltage characteristics. In the first case, a safer charge recovery is carried out. The device will automatically reduce the current value after reaching the predetermined parameters.
When using the device in non-automatic mode, you will need to constantly monitor the level of charge to prevent excessive heating of the battery. The following will be the sequence of actions when using the device in various modes.
In automatic mode
In automatic mode, the battery is charged according to the following instructions:
- Connect the device to the network.

- Select the current strength necessary for an effective battery charge (10% of the battery capacity, that is, if the capacity is 50 A / h, then the current should be 5 Amps).
- Unplug the device.
- Connect the terminals of the charger to the battery terminals, observing the polarity.
- Reconnect the device to 220 V.
After the device is again connected to an electrical outlet, electric current will be supplied to the battery terminals, the parameters of which were set at the device setup stage. When the battery is fully charged, the electronic unit will automatically reduce the amperage, so even with prolonged use of the charger, the battery will not recharge.
In non-automatic mode
When the device operates in this mode, the person is fully responsible for the effectiveness of the battery charge. That is, the characteristics of voltage and current strength will be saved from the first minutes of the device operation until the charger is disconnected from the 220 V network, or the current strength is not manually reduced to a safe level.
The algorithm of actions when using the non-automatic mode is almost completely identical to the automatic version of the device, but in the process of presetting the device, it will be necessary to set a charge current higher than that recommended by the manufacturer for a specific battery model.
